What's a HOT TOPIC in your life right now?
(Mine: Whether or not our generation is a bunch of aimless, entitled sloths or victims of an unstable society.)

World peace? Global warming? No. The very important hot topic in my life right now is...
What in the world do I wear to my 10-year high school reunion this coming Saturday night??
I know. I know. You were ALL so worried about the same issue.
Here's question raised between my husband and I this weekend.....
"What is an appropriate age to give your child a cell phone?"
My husband has a niece who got one when she was NINE! We both agree that nine is way too young.
Mine is one that is on my mind every hour I'm awake: SIDS and my Gus. . .
How long will it take me to finally go through his things in the closet?
How long will it take me to hold another newborn without thinking about him?
I'm doing a special report on me and Gus on my blog so feel free to drop by.
In my life, the hot topics are:
Whether the tunic and legging look is okay for my 13 year old daughter to wear to church.
Is playing Bunco really a bad thing?
Just how much freedom should a 16 year old boy have?
But mostly, how to potty train my 3 year old. Because I am so sick of changing "man poo" diapers. They make me gag, dry heave, and then throw up in my mouth.
And to Ashby- having learned the hard way, don't ever buy your kids a cell phone.
In answer to Mrs. Dub's HTT: both. The baby boomers' free love, do what feels good attitude drove our society toward the entitlement-driven, instant-gratification state that it's currently in. Not to blame our parents but I think the general pervasiveness of the 60's started us on this path. That's why it's so important for us to be actively raising our kids to appreciate things, to work hard, and all the other good qualities they will most decidedly not learn from society.
On a lighter note: which is a better use of my time, working out or working for money (my little job from home). I'm seriously torn! I could use the increased metabolism to combat Thanksgiving and Christmas, but I could also use a few extra bucks for Christmas!
This is a little off, but mine is:
How to machine quilt without a long-arm (gazillion dollar machine)? Would it actually save time over hand quilting? I just don't know.
Teenagers right to privacy, is pretty hot around these parts right now. Mr. G* and I don't think that any 16yr old should have any expectation of privacy (outside of being in the bathroom or getting dressed). A certain someone seems to disagree.
What brands are best for baby things from strollers to diapers. And what items have I missed on our registry?
Is it going to be a boy or girl - very hot topic!
Should you be responsible for communicating with your own parents or can you guilt your spouse into communicating with their in-laws so that you dont have to face the situation.
Child rearing, discipline, and people that make excuses for the lack ther of.
Incompetent CSR
I'm sorry but I must answer Jen:
It is possible to machine quilt on any machine you can lower the feed-dogs on. You don't need a long-arm.
And it is MUCH quicker than hand quilting.
My own hot topic:
How can I get my children to ALL move closer to me.
How do I get my 7 year old to stop acting like a miniature David Spade impersonator( to be fair he's probably not that much smaller) and be less sarcastic to me his adoring mother? At this point I'd enjoy the conciousness stream that is Robin Williams or even food references that Harland Williams brings to the table. The observational humor of Seinfeld would be nice .I guess I should be thankful he's not ventured into the Dice Mans over the head smoking and naughty nursery rhymes act.
How can I squeeze the most amount of "snooze time" into this Thanksgiving weekend and still be the one in charge of dinner?
I guess the HTT for me is trying to find buyers in the fine art market.
My amazing artist father...
www.grantromneyclawson.com
has given me a great opportunity to help him sell his paintings...
Trying to find people who not only appreciate art, but have thousands of dollars to spend on it!
My hot topic is kind of lame... but it is: which is harder, being a stay at home mom or a working mom? I hope the answer is being a working mom because I just quit my job... and will soon find out the real answer... hooray for 2008 - only 5 more weeks left of work!
i'm trying really hard not to be depressed about the fact that there has been no musings or misadventures of mrs. dub or miss dub or mr. dub to read about for almost an entire week. i got through a few of the days by stuffing my face with turkey and doing a little discount shopping... but now reality is setting in, and you're still not there. i'm not sure i'm a big fan of the freedom that your readers have allowed you, as of late.
;) but seriously... come back, k?
Next time you leave us for a week, please post a picture that is more pleasant than a bomb.
Perhaps a picture of the ever lovely Miss Dub.
Just a suggestion.
I'm with your mom. We're really tired of the bomb. :)
Check out my blog video posted a couple days ago. This guy is from my small town and it has been a HT nationally. Maybe you've already heard about it. I'd love to know what you think! ;)
