The SFG

The seasonal fashion genie came to me in a dream last night and informed me that he would be granting me and my blog readers three wishes today.

Unfortunately, my SFG is uptight and set out some pretty strict guidelines that almost took the fun out of making my wishlist ... almost.

He said we had to select the following for our three wishes:

1. A pair of shoes

2. A piece of outerwear

3. A smashing accessory

And all of them must be fall fashions.

So after much debate, and way too much time online, I've finally made my wishes:

Now, it's your turn. Share your wishes below, or link to your blog in the comments so we can see them in all their fall-tastic glory.

I will warn you that my seasonal fashion genie is terribly slow at wish delivery. I'm still waiting on some banana clips and Units clothing I wished for in fourth grade.

(And I already asked if I could just wish for more wishes. He said that's "cheating." Jerk.)

And the winners are ...

Thanks to everyone who participated in my first online scavenger hunt, which was (appropriately) dubbed Mrs. Dub's Ultimate Springtime Scavenger Hunt Extravaganza 2007 by someone really famous.

Happy helpers include Jen, Stephanie, Tara, Kate, Sara, Kristen and Rachel.

The rest of you know who you are, and I hope you can sleep at night.

And while I might come across as a passionate, opinionated blogger, those who know me know that I'm actually quite passive. So choosing a winner among friends is basically torture for me. Hence, I've selected a winner for each of the categories.

And the winners are ...
(click on photos for links!)

* A short hairdo

Thanks Rachie for this 'do, which has inspired me and totally transformed her!

* A paperclip

This paperclip comes complete with a crazy story, courtesy of Sara.

* A black, white or fuschia dress for me

This dress, found by Jen, is a steal.

This dress, found by Laurel, is cool.

This fun dress, found by Kate, came from a store you'll never guess.

And this jacket, found by Rachel, will make all my sleeveless dreams/dresses come true.

* A black, white or fuschia dress for Miss Dub
Do I go for casual chic, as Jen's sis suggested?

Or funky formal, as Kate recommended?

Or both?

* The world’s best boy baby shower gift

Tara made me laugh with this party pleaser,

And Stephanie wowed me once again with her sewing prowess.

* Cool, colorful plastic plates and bowls

Kate and Tara recommended these IKEA classics.

* Cool white plates and bowls

Tara went for IKEA again ... and I think I will, too!

* Your firstborn

How can you resist Stephanie's first creation?

* The must-have fashion of the spring season

Kristen's lil' guy (and his Peanut Shell) does count, right?

No one wanted to give these items a scavenge, so I went for it myself:

* A piece of toast

* Something old

*Something new

*Something borrowed

*Something blue

*Most embarassing story

If we're counting, Rachel and Tara tied for number of winning finds. Have a guest blog or night of free babysitting on me ... just email me!

But all of you are winners in my book!

Seriously, you should read it.

Scavenger hunt

For your midweek diversion, I’ve created a fun scavenger hunt.

Here’s how it works – you find the things I ask for (or one or two), post them on your blog and then let us know about it via my comments section. Then tomorrow, I’ll post links to all the finds.

The winner, determined randomly by my choosing, will get a marvelous prize, also known as my praise and devotion. (And a guest blog post or free babysitting if you so choose.)

On your mark, get set, go!

* A short hairdo, as I’m seriously, seriously contemplating chopping my hair chin-length-ish but need a pic to truly motivate me. (Think piecey, chunky, brave and bold!) Oh, just so you know, my hair is currently long-ish with caramel blonde highlights. And, yes, I will post a picture of myself on this blog one day, which will also be the day that I feel thin enough to be photographed. So sometime next fall.

* A paperclip.

* A black, white or fuschia dress – or, preferably, a combination of any of the above – to be worn by moi at my brother’s wedding, which is going to be the social fete of the year. Did I mention they’re serving Bahama Bucks. And I want to look good whilst I sip my Bahama-mama-rama!

* A black, white or fuschia dress – or, preferably, a combination of any of the above – to be worn by lil’ Miss Dub at my brother’s wedding, which you may have heard is going to be the social fete of the year. I’m looking for something a little funky as Miss Dub isn’t one for childish duds.

* A piece of toast.

* The world’s best boy baby shower gift. Shhh! Don’t tell her or her or her.

* Cool, colorful plastic plates and bowls that can be microwaved. (Take that melamine!)

* Cool white plates and bowls that are chic but reasonably priced.

* Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue.

* Your most embarrassing story. (Mine: Wetting my pants in the fourth grade during the Iowa tests. Seriously.)

* Your firstborn.

* The must-have fashion of the spring season.
