Tune of thought

Excuse me if I'm not myself today, but I recently found out that Beck is a Scientologist, and I need some time to take it in.

In other music news, Mr. Dub recently introduced me to Blonde Redhead, and there is no turning back. Bliss in melodic form, my friends.

Finally, in self-congratulatory non-news, remember Eliza? Well, my quarterly column is getting rave reviews from up to five people. Want to make it 10? Go here and find a place to buy the summer issue, which - according to mass amounts of emails I've received - is Eliza's best yet. Do it.

Or you could live life like Kenny Rogers and post a comment about why you should receive a free Eliza subscription. Leave your remarks by midnight Sunday (CST), and you might be a winner.

Now, what's on your mind?

I love Blonde Redhead. So much that I cried at one of their concerts. I couldn't help it. The music (or was it the beer?) moved me!

mr. dub doesn't like u2? i thought everyone on the planet (especially if they attended the b y) loved them.

also, i feel bad that i never subscribed to eliza. afterall, you are one of my best friends and you basically write the whole thing. and my little sister even wrote a big article for it a while back.

so i guess what i am trying to say is please pick me!

I also recently heard the news about Beck - it is most certainly disheartening. He's on my short list of "need to see in concert" artists - although I technicially did see him in concert already but that was for the Loser tour and doesn't count. How's that for a tangent. Thanks for the new music tip!

As your mother I seriously need to know exactly where I can read these rave reviews.

Seriously.

Oh! I love Blonde Redhead... they are seriously Yummy!

You correspond with Kenny Rogers? Wow. You're a hob-knobber! Congrats!

I need a moment to digest this sad news about Beck...

Oh. Pick me! Really. I need help...
Stacy & Clinton would gasp in horror if they saw my lack of style sense!

I didn't know you were "involved" with Eliza. I heard of it a while back and for some reason didn't subscribe. But I meant to. I wonder if I could get the library to subscribe so I could borrow their copies!

I live in Florida aka Babylon. Everywhere I look I see scantily clad, overweight, thong bearing women. Nasty. And it is hard to find good, modest clothes around here. And other uplifting, inspiring things. So, I would love to have a free subscription to Eliza to help me escape the pits down here.

I am still reeling about Beck.... Let me take a minute more... Okay, I love new music, my husband loves Blonde Redhead. I do too, I just did not know that is what their band was called.

Congrats on Eliza, What a fun magazine and experience.

I just found out about Eliza from a friend of mine who knows the girl who started it. I was telling her that i was just recently wishing there would be a great magazine for my daughter to read by the time she gets older (she's 3) because i loved reading mags as a teenager.
