C is for Compassion ... and Clavicle

Miss Dub has been naturally blessed with a strong sense of compassion. Not only does she voluntarily offer hugs and kisses to me, but she offers them to others, including strangers and television characters. (She also tickles the TV.)

Yesterday, I overheard this conversation between the little Miss and her toys while taking a bath:

Miss Dub: Ready? Go!

Pig: I winning.

Sheep: No winning.

Miss Dub: Good job, pig! Fast!

Sheep: (pretend crying)

Miss Dub: Good job, sheep!

Sheep: (sad voice) No winning.

Miss Dub: You winning. You trying.

Miss Dub: (kisses sheep) Ready? Go again!

That's about as adorable as can be. My kid just repeated dialog lines from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory at that point. She has waaay too much of her Dad in her.

I am blown away. Not surprised, but blown away nonetheless.

Good job ... both of you.

Just too sweet. And you need to take some credit. She may have been blessed with an extra measure of compassion, but I'm pretty sure she has mostly learned it from you.

How old is this darling? That seriously made me tear up a little it was so sweet.

Clearly you are doing a good job as a mother. I fear my children would have said "ha ha too bad sheepie-baby, seeeee yaaa!"

Oh man, what a sweet exchange. Some kids are definitely given more compassion than others!

Out of the mouth of babes.

Surreal emotional and social maturity for a toddler--very touching.

That is so cute. What a fun little chatterbox.

I accidentally joked about kissing Mr. Darcy while watching Pride and Prejudice awhile back, and now my girl has to kiss every television that is within her reach. (Even if Mr. Collins is on screen. Vleck!)
