Confessional

Confession #1 - I haven't grown an inch taller since fourth grade. No comment on how many inches wider I've expanded.

Confession #2 - My sister and I are "sometimes" writing a book series together.
Confession #2a - My sister is a better writer than I am.

Confession #3 - Sometimes I speak as if someone is listening to me. Like, when Mr. Dub is out of town, I make comments like, "Just wait until Daddy gets home from work!" - just in case some bad guys are listening outside. Or sometimes I say witty things to Miss Dub, in the event that our single, female neighbors upstairs are listening. I'm worried they might think motherhood is a bore so I'm trying to persuade them of its true coolness. (It is cool, right?)

Confession #4 - On occasion, I find green bean casserole and tater tot casserole to be delicious.
Confession #4a - My mom never made tater tot casserole growing up.
Confession #4b - My mom is cooler than your mom.

Confession #5 - I never attended by college statistics class once, and I got a job during my lab hour. I also flirted violently with the TAs right before each test to get some emergency help. I got a B+.

Confession #6 - I failed Physical Science twice. The first time I forgot I'd even enrolled in the class after I quit attending the third week. The second time I missed taking the final when another final went over, and I had a plane to catch. The third time I took the class online, took the option of letting my final test grade be my only grade for the semester and managed to get a C- after studying for only a day. (See Confession #5.)

Confession #7 - If I told you my middle name is Peter, I lied. People called me Pete growing up because of a really lame story that I probably embellished for the sole purpose of making the nickname stick.
Confession #7a - I was so sick of being called Pete several years before people stopped calling me that.

Confession #8 - Sometimes I think I'm rich. For the sake of convenience, I recently purchased four identical Christmas gifts online for $50 a piece. Now, I have to return them and find more reasonably priced replacements.

Confession #9 - I'm a loner. I love my friends, but I also really enjoy going shopping by myself.

Confession #10 - In recent weeks, I've gained more than five pounds. Mostly because I find the only way to curb morning sickness is to constantly shovel carbohydrates into my month. Every morning I say I'm going to be better, but by 9 a.m., I'm just focused on surviving.
Confession #10a - I'm ten weeks pregnant.

yayer! loved all the confessions... but number 10b is the kicker if you ask me (which you didn't).

congrats!

p.s. i'm glad that we share your mom, but she is not COOLER than my actual mom. they're the same coolness, just in very different ways.

p.p.s. i got a C in my psych 101 class b/c i never went except on test days... then i retook the class (senior year), attended all sessions and aced it. i know that that makes me way less cool than you, but my summa status was in jeopardy, and i am a dork.

p.p.s.s. this is way too long, but i'm just so excited about my third niece or nephew... i'm hopped up on excitement.

ugh, i obviously meant 10a, as there is no 10b.

yay you. i wonder if this will be a dude or a dudette.

Congrats to you and the Mister.

Oh! yay. :)

Congratulations! Hopefully that little miss dub is letting you get lots of rest.

Congratulations!
By the way, some of your confessions are my worst nightmares, literally. I still dream that there's a class I forgot I had and even if I ace the final, I would only get a C in the class and tomorrow is the final. I wake up in a cold sweat and remind myself it's been 10 years since I went to college!

yay for more babies!!!

congratulations to you and mr. dub!!

Congratulations!! I know I don't know you personally but I am still very excited for you! I failed physical science my first time and started crying to my dad about it. He asked me if I could re take it and I said yes, to which he said..."then why are you o upset?" I thought it was pretty funny since I assumed he would be mad at me! I passed with a D+ and was thrilled! Good luck with being prego!

Jenny said...

Hurray! Now you can do some serious baby name searching! :)
Congratulations!!!

How fabntastically delightful. Congratulations. I hope the next five to eight weeks fly by so you can be in the happy secondmester before you know it.

oh my goodness. you are so sneaky... throwing in that last tidbit. congratulations!!!!!
i had totally forgotten about pete... what a funny thing. did people really believe that was your middle name??
also i had a class i took 3 times in order to pass. and another 2 classes i had to retake too. it's okay.

congratulations mrs dub!! how exciting!

your physical science experience sounds much like mine. i took it during the olympics which i was very heavily involved in (dancing stuff) and never went to class, so i took my final grade, which was a C- as well!! awesome!

Congratulations! That is so exciting and I love all your confessions. You sound like an amazing student. So, please tell me you will find out the sex.

congrats! hope the sickness passes soon.

Hooray! Good schedule; getting pregnant around your baby's 1st birthday. That's what I always did. Congratulations!

Just for the record: the "Pete" thing hurt my feelings a little bit. Funny how the "Mrs. Dub" thing doesn't bother me a bit.

Next: I am more than happy to share a coolness factor with Steph's mom ... 'cause she is very cool. And I would offer to arm-wrestle her for the title, but I'm pretty certain I would lose.

Last: Yeah .... YEAH for 10a!!!

hooray for babies! boo for morning sickness. just reading that i think set me back a few more years to child bearing. good luck!

Hooray! Congratulations! And that was very sneaky! I had no idea that is what you were leading too.

Lacey said...

Yeah, congrats for you! That is so exciting! I so feel your morning sickness pain and carb cravings I too am trying to convince myself that veggies and protein are still my friends but this little embryo has a different opinion! Its amazing that they can be so opinionated before they are even born! Congrats again!

Hooray!! That sneaky weaning Miss Dub was just paving the way for the second edition!
I failed Physical Science the first time because I had it with a good guy friend and the class was during lunch. We went out to lunch a lot. It was way more fun than P.S. 100.

Me too on the G.B. casserole.
My mom never made it either.
My mom is cooler than most moms.

CONGRATS CONGRATS CONGRATS! That is so great! I loved each one and was almost in tears laughing!

I went to Physical Science once. Lisa, Leslie, and some other friends attended and studied a lot (much thanks to Mrs Gee's WONDERFUL notes!!). I studied like a maniac for the final and we all got the same grade. :) Cs & Ds get degrees!

despite how incredibly over-joyed i am at the fact that there's going to be another dub in this world... i'm slightly distracted by the fact that we're exactly the same person!

but for etiquette sake... congratulations!!!

seriously... same person.

I'm all about Confession #3. I totally do that. It's nice to have a little person to direct my random talking to, actually.

As for Confession #10a, congratulations!!!

What I can't figure out is how you managed to post that casserole picture while feeling queasy. I can't even look at stuff like that during the first trimester. Congratulations! Great timing, by the way -- you can totally blame holiday weight gain on the pregnancy!

Mandee said...

So happy for you!

Jessi said...

Congrats on the baby!! Good luck making it through the yucky-ness. And there is such a thing as tater-tot casserole? I must try it sometime.

congratulations! how exciting!

That is so awesome! And in all selfishness one of the things that I am most excited about is what this means for the blog and future post being even more baby oriented. I am just 4 weeks farther along and really looking forward to your insight and solicited comments about babies!

P.S. I graduated with a 3.98 that is all A's except for the B+ I got in statistics. I literally killed myself to get that good of a grade so I really hate you for that!

Congrats! You're now the 3rd person I know to have a post-Sophie baby, but a pre-Abbie pregnancy.

Congratulations! Hope all is going well so far!

Congrats! And...being a mom IS cool!

CONGRATS!!!

and how did I not follow your example in stats class? I always went to class, mainly to flirt with boys and work on the quizzes together.

It's funny, after advanced reporting class I always had this image of you as a die-hard perfect student. Maybe that was just in journalism classes :)

We miss you here at the paper!

i am so excited for this little dub to arrive! horray, hooray!

if i was there, i'd find someone to make you tater tot casserole. that is the kind of friend i am

I've never met you but I'm so happy for you! I even mentioned it to my husband while listing noteworthy items from the day during his lunchtime call home - "...and Mrs. Dub is pregnant!" - which prompted some teasing about my "imaginary friend." I love your blog and will look forward to your pregnancy musings and misadventures, part II.

i love the growing family of dubs!!

...and also i secretly love tater tot casserole.

that is so exciting!

p.s. I got a D+ in my impossible 2nd-half of the new testament class. retook it independent study for a B. and I also like green bean casserole at times -even though mama never made it!

Dude, I almost quit reading by the last confession (not because they aren't clever, but because little people demand my attention, the nerve!)

Congratulations! My spidey-sense for stranger-friends told me this would be true back in your "yearning for another baby" posts! Hooray for more dubs!

AC said...

This is the best news! Congratulations!!!

Alice said...

Yahoo! Congrats to the Dubs! :)

I feel the same way about Tuna casserole. My cool mom never made it growing up, but I must admit I like the stuff now and again.

And I had the same mishaps with my Chemistry class, or rather classes in college. During my last spin with online Chemistry my mantra became "C’s get degrees” :)

oh wow! Congrats to you guys.

Congratulations! How fun, a new playmate, and playmate for Mrs. Dub!

My confession: I have never, nor do I ever wish to try tater tot casserole. Tots just don't do it for me.

Sorry I meant Miss Dub. That sounded like I actually know you or something.

Rachie said...

Yeah!!!

Congrats on Baby #2. No wonder you were pale the last time on saw you.

I love confessions, like if I had to confess something, it would be I Love to listen to Yeah! by Usher, as loud as I can and I like to pretend I can dance!
Congrats on being pregnant!

Sarah S said...

Congratulations!! I hope the morning sickness goes away soon. I really don't miss that part of being prego! (Though I will say I passed some very cute maternity clothes at Target tonight and had a slight pang to experience pregnancy all over again - but alas, it's way too soon for me!)

I HATED physical science. I took it online and got a C, even with the tutoring from my chemical engineering husband!! I wonder if anyone who wasn't majoring in science actually did well in that class?

i can't believe i'm like the last person on earth to say congratulations on the coming of another Dub - that's what I get for taking a break from reading while my parents were in town - sheesh, what kind of blogger am I after all?!
can't wait to hear all about it over the coming months - hurrah for new babies!
