Miss Dub's diaper drama
These are the facts:
1. At 7 p.m., when asked if she is ready to sleep, Miss Dub will put her hands to her head, say, "Bye-Bye," and walk to her crib.
2. After a few books, a prayer and a song, Miss Dub will drift off to sleep without a peep.
3. At 2 a.m. on most nights, Miss Dub is not awake.
4. At 4:45 a.m. every day (since the time change), Miss Dub will wake up sobbing.
5. At 5 a.m., I cave in and go and check on the l'il lass.
6. At 5:01 a.m., I realize she's blown out her diaper. (And I'm not talking peeps, people!)
Any ideas?

No answers here, except that if you lived in Arizona you wouldn't have to deal with the time change. But, for Miss Dub's sake, let's hope 70 years from now she's just as regular and not in diapers.
here's my thought: it is all because of the time change. her body needs to adjust (which it will, soon, probably).
here's my suggestion: move to arizona. without a time change, there wouldn't be a problem. i promise.
p daddy and i are SO on the same page here.
We are dealing with the same thing here. At least my very loud boys got up at about 6:30 today instead of before 6. My Miss P was ready to go at 6 though. We are all messed up, at least they are going to bed early. P Daddy is again, the wise one here.
This this appears to be a meeting of the PDaddy fan club (of which I am President)I will also say that he is wise beyond his years and his solution is the obvious one.
p.s. I LOVE her "office".
That would be "Since this ..."
pdaddy always knows just what to say! I will use reverse psycology and TRIPLE DOG DARE you to move to AZ! ( or Ill give you a dollar if ya do - and ya dont even have to eat a dog hair sandwich!)
As for the Diaper Dilemma I say quit givin her colon blow cereal with a prune juice chaser and that should do it.
This to shall pass.... so are you saying she is up for good? If so, take a long nap when she is napping in the afternoon... good luck! After kids sleeping is never the same... But the trade off is well worth the sacrifice.
it ain't called the butt crack of dawn for nothin'.
ps. my baby's on an early morning poop schedule too. eventually, that changes. it's a phase. just like everything else.
Leslie's comment is so funny (cracks me up, you might say). I'll jump on the bandwagon... just move to AZ already! My kids have been sleeping wonderfully through the time change (or lack thereof).
funny, the time change hasn't affected me at all. ha, ha we don't have one. suckers. p.s. miss dub is turning into a lady.
i second brooke and say ease up on the colon blow, or super colon blow, whatever the case may be. the prune juice is probably ok. it must the the combonation.
it's obvious Arizona beats Illinois in this area. i didn't know AZ didn't even have DST until robby and i were engaged. i think i fought him about it for 5 minutes because i thought it was impossible until i realized that he actually lived here. it's the best idea in the history of arizona.
you have no other choice but to move back. it's just science.
we have a bit of the same problem... but I just feed & change my little mister and then put him back to bed. he used to sleep like 3 more hours but now thanks to the timechange he "only" goes back down for another hour or so. I guess diapers just weren't meant to last for a WHOLE night? who can we talk to about this?
Kerstin Bean was having similar issues with the pooping, not early in the morning but with the afternoon nap. My advice is to put Miss Dub in a bigger sized diaper for the nighttime and to try to feed her things earlier in the day to get her to poop sooner. Here is the link to Kerstin's post: http://wadeandkerstinfamily.blogspot.com/2007/10/married-white-mother-seeking-advice.html Good luck!
This time change is messing us up too - Eli was waking up at 4 a.m. on Monday and Tuesday, but now we've worked up to 6:15 (but then he's up for an hour and then goes back to sleep for two hours because he's so pooped... and I do too because I never go to bed at a decent hour and pay for it in the morning!!)
I have a similar diaper problem with my four month old, and what works for us is using a high quality diaper at the next size up (so it covers a larger area) and fastening it as tightly as possible. We only use these diapers overnight and in the morning when blowouts occur without notice daily. I've also had friends who've double diapered their babies at night.
Clearly, the answer is to invent some sort of constantly spray and suck system. Kind of like the way the produce is sprayed at the store combined with a shop-vac.
Let's get cracking!
Sophie's been filling her diaper to the max lately too - for naps and nights. She also manages to always thoroughly clean herself out during a good cry.
