Life has become a little busier in the Dub household.
Blame it on a growing Miss Dub who needs more outings and entertainment than ever before.
Blame it on the good weather, which has prompted everyone and their dogs to throw some sort of shindig. (And let me tell you, those dogs make a mean kebab.)
Blame it on our new, responsibility-laden assignments at church. (Enrichment counselor for me – HELP!)
Blame it on the new fall season, which we feel obliged to sample. (Can I just say Reaper was the funniest, most cleverly premised show I’ve seen in a long time? And I generally don’t like Satan humor.)
Whatever you want to blame it on – and, yes, Mark-Paul Gosselar is an option – I got so busy this weekend that I forgot to recharge my blog batteries. I forgot to do something so unbelievably fun or exciting or hilarious that I had to tell you about it in exaggerated detail. I forgot to get inspired and motivational and/or lose 15 pounds in a diuretic cleansing. I just plain forgot … everything.
So I’ve got nothing for ch’alls. Except to point out that I continue to insert my invented phrase, “ch’alls,” into my blogs – along with FYE (for your edification) – and yet neither term has joined popular vernacular. I mean, how influential do you have to be to coin a phrase these days? Because I have like FOUR blog readers.
Speaking of that, I’m going to implore ch’alls to help me out this week. With my batteries blitzed, I need your ideas to keep me writing this week. Because the alternative is reading this nonsense for the next four days, and, FYE, that would be annoying.
So why don’t you all send me some questions – whether in the comments section, via email or by carrier pigeon. ‘Cause we all know that I have no shame in sharing my secrets.
The hottest, most popular questions will be on the Hot Topic table tomorrow, and the others will get answered throughout the week.
Sound good, ch’alls?
(Wow! That word is super annoying. Who in the heck invented it anyway?)

Actually, FYE, for your edification, is a common acronym.
even when you talk about nothing, you're still more entertaining than most!
i think that you should tell a tale about a knight in grimy armor.
i think that'd be a serious hot topic.
or, you could take a strong stance on the tomayto vs. tomato debate. that could be an interesting.
agreeing with steph... you're always entertaining, even when talking about nothing :P lol. when i see FYE, i think of the website for your entertainment... i guess they both work well with you! hehe
sorry it's too early for me to come up with some great HTT for tomorrow :P
first of all... that is basically the cutest picture ever! it makes me antsy to take a trip to chicago and hang with my new friend mrs. dub, my old friend mr. dub and the cutest little toddler i can image, miss dub. :)
as for things to write about... i feel your pain. this was me a couple weeks ago. here's some ideas for topics:
1. is it wrong, in this wireless world, to use the toilet whilst talking on the phone? and can you really flush and run out of the bathroom before they hear it?
2. why are women the cooks by default? is this God-directed, or 2000+ years of male-domination? (i'll give 1 guess which side of the arguement i fall on)
3. why are walmart customer service people ALWAYS so incredibly cranky? can there be no pride in your work at all, people?! (truly... crankiest people in the world)
ok... i'm spent. good luck in your quest for a great topic. :)
is it wrong that i am kind of tearing up a little at this photo? i miss you guys so much! can't wait for christmas time. seeing you will be like ...well, christmas.
oooh! i like janaya's first topic idea!
I gots nothin'...love the pumpkin picture though! Yay for fall!
I'd like to know what is good stuff to fight first trimester nausea. I know that only applies to a small number of people, but it's very interesting to me right now. I usually go with ginger ale, saltines, and popsicles, but I'm ready to shake it up a little.
Or you could have a home improvement showcase and have everyone post a picture of their favorite part of their house or a fun before and after on their blog and we could all go look at them. I love that stuff. I wish HGTV was its own package without having all those other pointless channels.
I think you should write about all of your enrichment ideas. I'm the EC, too and would love to hear what you have planned!
i think you should talk about your honeymoon or any vacation that caused a ridiculous chain of reactions. you tell those kinds of stories best.
jen: Zofran.
L: your hair's adorable! And I guarantee you'll be an awesome EC. You should do those Mod Podge letters for a crafy activity; people will eat that up.
...and also I LOVE your hair.
i know, how about some funny stories about Miss Pete.
what about charter schools vs. public schools. it is a really hot topic right now in UT. i know that the world does not revolve around UT, but don't we make for great hot topics?
wait ...have you already done this one?
I like ch'alls and fye. Absolutely no creative ideas from moi.
How about:
What do you do with your "fat pants" after you lose weight?
If you keep them, are you psychologically giving yourself permission to gain the weight back or just being a realist?
Janaya has some good ones...I like the phone in the toilet thing. Always. Oh. We aren't doing that yet. Sorry. Or some topic on cell phone etiquette (like in public restrooms) and people who talk WAY too loudly (like my blessed Mother). And I love your blogs...ditto on always entertaining no matter what. And you have a darling family.
Hi! I love your blog...found it through a friend of a friends...I was thinkin about why adults feel like they have to act so adult to fulfill their "adultness." What happens when we're growing up that makes us loose our "free-ness" as kids...to dance whenever, be friends with whoever, prank, share our opinions/beliefs openly...instead we get this idea/pressure that we have to have sophisticated-professional conversations, dance in appropriate settings (or else everyone stares), pranks are immature...,etc...with me!? I still LOVE the young stuff...or is that "immature?" Is it experience/wisdom that makes us hesitant and careful, or should experience/wisdom tell us its still ok to enjoy the small things in life!? Where's the line. :)
