Weather Report

We recently had a spree of nice days in Chicago. Sunny. Warm, but not too warm. Crisp. Calm.

And it made me realize just how much weather can affect your mood. Or maybe it’s just me and the other 35 million Americans who suffer from seasonal depression. (I’m totally self-diagnosed. I also remove my own stitches, but that’s another story.)

For me, perfect weather is San Diego weather: Sunny and 75 with a light breeze. Nighttime necessitates a cardigan year-round. Day time is flip-flops or flats weather. Boots are doable but optional. You can own a winter wardrobe, but you can also get by on a closet full of skirts.

I’m pretty sure San Diego is your dream weather, too, though I’ve heard rumors of people who like their weather colder. I, of course, have lumped such tales with those of Nessie and Sasquatch and will continue to do so until I hear a first-person narrative.

By the way, I happen to be in San Diego today, where the weather is perfect. And that makes me very, very happy.

Where are you today? Is there someplace you’d rather be?

And does it have anything to do with the weather?

I'm in DC, and as of today....I'd rather be in San Diego with you. This humidity is killing me. Although I did hear that cooler and less humid weather is on the horizon!

i have to say that i love san diego weather too. lived there for a summer, and i agree that it's perfect... however, i pine for coastal british columbia weather (specifically vancouver island weather). which is colder than san diego, for sure. it's rainy. it's grey. it's definite long sleeve weather. it's not snow (like some may assume since it's canada). it's just beautiful breezy sweater weather. LOVE it. and i could do without all heat over 75 degrees. blah.

I am taking 2 small children to school in a downpour of rain and wind. Rain, floods, heat, steam...I wonder if I can get both sides of our entire family to pick up and move to San Diego? I think I'll go ask...

Love SD. But I don't mind it getting much hotter than that... I don't want to need a cardigan every night. I love the AZ sun and if it rains more than two days in a row I start to get mad. That being said, of course I do enjoy a good storm and of course I do get a little worn out from the 100+ degree heat by about, um, now... but I would never trade it for a cold snowy winters.

hey mrs. dub. you're not far from me. i lived in sd for a year and just moved to orange county so weather for the past year and a half has been nothing but sunshine and mild temps. maybe i'm that first person narrative you're looking for - not that i like weather colder necessarily, but i like weather to change once in awhile and this has been a year and a half of boring weather.

yet the boring, good weather has given me the best skin i've ever had plus a very happy, even-mooded (what?) disposition.

...oh, and the highest rent and clogginest (what?) traffic.

Yesterday I was in LA. Today I am in Utah. I always want to be in Hawaii.

Today in Utah it is really nice- about 75 and sunny - just perfect for the kids to play outside on their bikes and to take a nice walk. Fall weather here is beautiful...BTW- anyone who lives in the Salt Lake area- go up millcreek canyon in the next couple of weeks to see the leaves changing- it is breathtaking. California weather is the best- all year round- maybe heaven will be the same?

Oooh, I wish I was in San Diego with a light breeze on the beach. Instead I am in Las Vegas and while there is a breeze, it feels more like a blow dryer.

A Vancouver, B.C., late Summer day, a Vermont Indian Summer Fall day, a Washington, D.C., cherry blossom week Spring Day, and a Scottsdale or San Diego Winter day. I like cool to medium cold evenings, but no snow and never ice, warm and dry days but not over 80, with a nice 50-60 degree rainy day, or a Colorado Springs or Honolulu afternoon rain storm mixed in every once and a while. Well, I suppose that's heaven...but Shoeless Joe, No, it sure ain't Iowa.

I'm in Austin, and it's raining AND 90 degrees. I'll meet you at the beach in ten.

I would always rather be where you are today...in So. Cal. especially today where I could ride almost every day of the year with my sista Rachel. But I am happy about the weather here today in the SLC - it's cooler and fall-like for like 3 weeks before it gets really cold, so I am happy. I get you with the weather though, I could never live in Oregon, since the winters in SLC have depressed me enough (even with snowboarding!). I need the sunshine of my youth!
