I know this question is so last year, but I’m still troubled by it so I must pose it to you all no matter how dated:
Is Katie Holmes brainwashed or what?
Because while I do love her new ‘do - which I recently replicated - and am convinced she is happily mothering Suri and her head of hair, I’m totally disturbed how she went from low-key Catholic girl to a couture-wearing Scientologist.
Blame Tom. Blame Posh. Blame
I can’t decide.
* Perhaps my concern has to do with the fact she bears an uncanny resemblance to my own sister. Those who know Mrs. Gee should bear testimony below.

She is just the person she was meant to be in the first place...(sounds good huh?) I don't know- but she is very stylish now- and always has a smile on her face... geez- she is a grown women- can we just leave her alone and let her live her life... so we can live ours?
it is true. she does look like mrs. gee.
maybe this style-loving woman was hidden inside of her all the time. she just didn't have the funds or the motivation to bring her out. i think she looks fab, even if she is a scientologist.
all i know is i want a baby girl with a full head of dark hair destined for a baby GAP contract. all images of tom shaking the crap out of oprah and rumors of katie not making a peep during delivery aside, they made a pretty freaking gorgeous baby. :)
Aside of the paparazzi and the "People" readers like myself who support them, I think Mrs. Cruise has a pretty sweet life. Catholicism - Scientology, Scientology - Catholicism. Neither will get her or her beyond beautiful family Celestial glory.
I worry about Katie sometimes too. I agree with you...she looks fabulous. I love seeing photos of her and Suri. It is really sweet.
As far as brainwashing we may need to wait another 5 years until we know. You know, when the break up and she shares her side of the story.
A friend of mine, who has some other friends that know the deal, was telling me that the best kept secret in Hollywood is that Tom is gay and Katie is well paid.
I mean, let them live their lives!
I'm gonna have to agree with Rachie on this... we'll just have to wait and see what's really going after they break up =/ But until then at least she looks amazing and we get to see their beautiful little Suri :)
I can't possibly care because Suri in that dress is just too much... please let me have that baby and that romper!!!
i've never thought about how katie cruise looks like amy g. i kind of see it now, but amy's way prettier. i think katie still has the face of an 11-year-old.
but i do love her clothes. and that baby's hair is adorable. :)

I agree with katie, above. She is a grown woman! If she's that susceptible to the power of suggestion, it's her own dang fault.
Brainwashed or something: yes. But I don't think her fashion is the giveaway; it's the sudden distancing from her tight-knit family, lifelong friends, etc. that is suspect. I'm afraid I said that with such poor grammar. But Suri looks pretty cute.
I hope Katie is as happy as she seems. I hope their daughter's life is as beautiful as she is. I hope their relationship is real and free of compulsion. If it is a fraud, then I hope it is consensual and mutually beneficial. My views of Scientology and Tom Cruise (at least post-Matt Lauer/Brooke Shields) are not flattering, but neither are many people's views of me and my beliefs. Though I subscribe to the reality of absolute truth and absolute morality, I defend (in fact, it is an article of my faith) the right of others to disagree and recognize that to the sceptic conversion and auditing, angels and flying saucers, the spirit and e-meters are just different shades of nonsense. The truth will ultimately win out, not by public argument but by personal inward workings. In the meantime, criticism, speculation, and invasion of privacy are probably not what will free Katie,if she needs freeing.

I would love to know if Azucar was joking, or if that is a real rumor. This Tom/Katie thing is a mystery that we might not find out the answer to in this lifetime -- I find it very perplexing, whenever I allow myself to think about silly things like that (not that their lives are silly, but that spending time worrying about celebrities is silly). I'm fascinated and a little concerned, frankly, that so many people commented on how great they look. They do look great, but we're talking about pictures in magazines and red carpet encounters, not real life. Real life does not look like a magazine, and I think we need to get over thinking that it should.
Its amazing what a stylist and an unlimited budget, trainer, nutritionist and scientologist chaperone can get you.Yes She looks good - who wouldnt There are only a few knock down drag out fabulously flawless,natural beauties out there( think grace kelly, rita hayworth, ava gardner,and more recently halle berry ,famke jansen,christie brinkley,cindy crawford etc..) anyone can look great if they have a flattering haircut, stop thinkin capris look good on everyone,and take care of themselves ( by the way i totaly wear ill fitting clothes and get my hair did' twice a year)a little self esteem goes a long way too - BUT- to get back to the original question Katie is Tom's love slave or decoy and Suri looks like a darling baby with a wig.
Well, you gotta keep in mind that the early 20's are a time when everybody experiments with new looks, new ways of thinking, new everything. Over time, I'm sure it will all settle out.
