i accidentally stole a lamp shade from target once... if that makes you feel any better. :) (and TARGET of all places... mecca, if you will). but you know how they sell lamp bases and lamp shades as separate pieces? well, i bought a lamp, and put the lamp shade on top (where it belongs) and they checked it out as one piece (unbeknownst to me), and i didn't even think twice when the alarm thing went off as i went out the door either. neither did any of the target employees (does anyone ever really respond to those things? seriously?). and so it wasn't 'til i was about half way home, when i replayed the experience over in my mind and it suddenly hit me what had happened. wow... that was so long ago. and that lamp shade is well-worn and still very very unpaid for. CRAP! now i have to go back and figure out how to pay for it. dang you! why did you have to pay for the burrito?! :)

love the story - no, really, i've been there and i swear it is easier to walk out of a store with twine than one would think.
