Scavenger hunt

For your midweek diversion, I’ve created a fun scavenger hunt.

Here’s how it works – you find the things I ask for (or one or two), post them on your blog and then let us know about it via my comments section. Then tomorrow, I’ll post links to all the finds.

The winner, determined randomly by my choosing, will get a marvelous prize, also known as my praise and devotion. (And a guest blog post or free babysitting if you so choose.)

On your mark, get set, go!

* A short hairdo, as I’m seriously, seriously contemplating chopping my hair chin-length-ish but need a pic to truly motivate me. (Think piecey, chunky, brave and bold!) Oh, just so you know, my hair is currently long-ish with caramel blonde highlights. And, yes, I will post a picture of myself on this blog one day, which will also be the day that I feel thin enough to be photographed. So sometime next fall.

* A paperclip.

* A black, white or fuschia dress – or, preferably, a combination of any of the above – to be worn by moi at my brother’s wedding, which is going to be the social fete of the year. Did I mention they’re serving Bahama Bucks. And I want to look good whilst I sip my Bahama-mama-rama!

* A black, white or fuschia dress – or, preferably, a combination of any of the above – to be worn by lil’ Miss Dub at my brother’s wedding, which you may have heard is going to be the social fete of the year. I’m looking for something a little funky as Miss Dub isn’t one for childish duds.

* A piece of toast.

* The world’s best boy baby shower gift. Shhh! Don’t tell her or her or her.

* Cool, colorful plastic plates and bowls that can be microwaved. (Take that melamine!)

* Cool white plates and bowls that are chic but reasonably priced.

* Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue.

* Your most embarrassing story. (Mine: Wetting my pants in the fourth grade during the Iowa tests. Seriously.)

* Your firstborn.

* The must-have fashion of the spring season.

You've inspired madness. I have also needed a sweet little dress for some upcoming nuptials, and I think I have found it. I posted some black and white (mostly black) numbers, as well as a fantastic head of hair on this blog:www.laytonsisters.blogspot.com
Check it out.

I also meant to tell you earlier that this was not only a terribly clever idea for some good ol' fashioned scavenging fun, but SO smart on your part. Especially re: the dress finding. I had been searching for weeks for a suitable maternity dress with certain modesty standards to wear to this wedding I will be attending in YOUR city in a few weeks... and if I had put the masses to work, I might have come up with something much sooner. I hope some people take the time to search for a lovely dress for you. I found several cute black/white maternity dresses... but that will not help a post-baby, Thin Mrs. Dub.

By the way, we have the basic itinerary for our Chicago weekend now, and it looks like we'll have plenty of free time on Sunday, May 6. There is nothing wedding-related going on that day, and our plane doesn't leave until late afternoon. We also may have a couple of hours on Saturday morning, May 5. So let me know what your schedule is looking like...

Really cute Children's Place dresses Kate... I was really disappointed in what I was able to find... the green and pink is much cuter

Thanks Tara. I do love the little green/pink dress you found, but I guess Miss Dub needs to match the wedding party.

Mrs Dub: I also found some dresses for you. You may check them out on my blog.
