And the winners are ...

Thanks to everyone who participated in my first online scavenger hunt, which was (appropriately) dubbed Mrs. Dub's Ultimate Springtime Scavenger Hunt Extravaganza 2007 by someone really famous.

Happy helpers include Jen, Stephanie, Tara, Kate, Sara, Kristen and Rachel.

The rest of you know who you are, and I hope you can sleep at night.

And while I might come across as a passionate, opinionated blogger, those who know me know that I'm actually quite passive. So choosing a winner among friends is basically torture for me. Hence, I've selected a winner for each of the categories.

And the winners are ...
(click on photos for links!)

* A short hairdo

Thanks Rachie for this 'do, which has inspired me and totally transformed her!

* A paperclip

This paperclip comes complete with a crazy story, courtesy of Sara.

* A black, white or fuschia dress for me

This dress, found by Jen, is a steal.

This dress, found by Laurel, is cool.

This fun dress, found by Kate, came from a store you'll never guess.

And this jacket, found by Rachel, will make all my sleeveless dreams/dresses come true.

* A black, white or fuschia dress for Miss Dub
Do I go for casual chic, as Jen's sis suggested?

Or funky formal, as Kate recommended?

Or both?

* The world’s best boy baby shower gift

Tara made me laugh with this party pleaser,

And Stephanie wowed me once again with her sewing prowess.

* Cool, colorful plastic plates and bowls

Kate and Tara recommended these IKEA classics.

* Cool white plates and bowls

Tara went for IKEA again ... and I think I will, too!

* Your firstborn

How can you resist Stephanie's first creation?

* The must-have fashion of the spring season

Kristen's lil' guy (and his Peanut Shell) does count, right?

No one wanted to give these items a scavenge, so I went for it myself:

* A piece of toast

* Something old

*Something new

*Something borrowed

*Something blue

*Most embarassing story

If we're counting, Rachel and Tara tied for number of winning finds. Have a guest blog or night of free babysitting on me ... just email me!

But all of you are winners in my book!

Seriously, you should read it.

I agree that Miss Dub's personality matches well with the black and white dress, which, to my unschooled eye, seems to have a little bit of 'Flapper' flair, giggly and flirty, and, after the jazz dance ensemble, who can question that personifies little e.

I feel so honored to have won the hotly-contested paperclip division of the contest... first I'd like to thank the Academy, and of course my parents for always supporting me in following my dreams. I'd like to thank my agent, my publicist, my entourage, my hairdresser, and of course my high-speed internet; without which none of this would have been possible.

PS... If I'd been thinking clearly yesterday, I would've sent you the picture of the piece of toast with the Virgin Mary image that went for thousands on eBay a few years ago; then I could've topped TWO divisions of the Extravaganza! Maybe next time!

Alright, Mrs. Dub. You caught me on my sister's blog. "Hi" back to you, and yes, I have been reading your blog daily ever since my sisters started the craze. I have felt pretty intimidated to make a comment because all of your readers/commenters are so witty, clever, and down right funny. Take the comment from Sara above. That was enough to make me burst out laughing. Maybe now that I have taken the leap from reader to commenter, I will be more apt to make comments in the future.

By the way, I LOVE your blog. It is extremely entertaining. It is pretty much my all time favorite blog, except, of course, for the 2 that show regular pics of my nieces and nephews. So thank you for spending the time to share great pics of Miss Dub, who is so adorable, and some very witty thoughts along the way.

dear mrs. dub -
please please please accempt my most humble appologies - i failed to post entries in your ph-so-fun scavenger hunt in due time. it was not for a lack of desire or interest, for i had more than enough of both - what i did lack was sufficent time; life got away from me the past few days. if you would be so kind as to do another soon, i would love to participate - perhaps more than i should - i really like this idea. alot.
yours very truly,
natalie*

Guess that's what 10 or 12 years & motherhood will do for you - growing up sara seemed more like a "posse" than an "entourage" sort of person - & on the subject of the B girls, we were weren't we - kate's comments always seem to give voice to my own opinions - & now jamie's chimed in, too - I previously gave tribute to the role of the P girls in the lives of the S girls - the B girls have also blessed our lives and represent another set of continuing friendships it is gratifying for a parent to watch from afar (and Mrs. J, you know that goes DOUBLE for you & your sistas, too).

Wow, I am so flattered! I'm certainly not at editorially Suave as you, Mrs. Dub (really... you're great... always a fun read) but I'll give it my darnedest! I suppose we can exchange emails about the details...
Certainly tell us what dresses you decide on for your brothers wedding!

Thanks to P Daddy for the nice comments! I love that the whole S family is involved in the blogging world. I've been trying to get my fam on the bandwagon. Since we all see each other so often, now that we're all in the greater Phoenix area, maybe they don't think it's necessary. We really do need to see blogs from all the other S girls (Mrs. Dub's sisters AND Mrs. J's sisters). What we also need is a big reunion. :)

P Daddy -- it's so funny you said that because I actually typed "posse" and then changed it to "entourage" since I thought that sounded more appropriate for my acceptance speech (my full-time speechwriter was unavailable). Although speaking of my posse, my very favorite trio of all time involved your firstborn, a.k.a. one of my best bff's ever. I'm so glad we're still in touch, if only on occasion.
