Heaven for me would be a beach, my family and a good magazine. Scratch that -- lots of good magazines. (And maybe some flautas.)I love magazines. Like, I have to start with the letters to the editor and not come up for air until I finish with the horoscope page. (Which I don't believe in but read out of sheer obligation.)
I skip no pages in the process, even to finish an article. I just work my way to the end and continue where I left off.
That's how much I love magazines.
Did I mention I love magazines?
The only catch is that I can hardly read one these days without feeling embarassed, ashamed, disturbed or just plain stupid.
(They're just like US? Seriously? I didn't need a pic to know that Jessica Alba squeezes her fruit just like me.)
Even the mags known for tasteful content, such as In Style, are full of questionable and bizarre ads. (Why is that naked model making out with a crocodile?) And much of the fashion is unwearable by someone who believes in a little something I like to call modesty. (And did I mention how much I hate the ankle boot?)
So it is with great elation that I announce the debut of a new magazine that caters to "women who are stylish, sexy and maintain high standards in dress, entertainment and lifestyle." So basically they're talking about me, except for the entertainment part. I have been known to indulge in some "America's Next Top Model" on occassion, which isn't immoral but really, really wrong.

Did I mention it's only $10.97 for four quarterly issues?
You simply must do it. Now.
Take it from me -- I love magazines.

You stole my post! :) I just got the info on this from my friend who is putting it together. She's in our ward in L.A. and super cute and fashionable and I am excited about it. And I hate ankle boots too (except in the 70s when my cute grandma wore them)
Thanks for posting this, Mrs. Dub. Like Rachel alluded, the mag is being put together by a bunch of hipster LDS gals in LA, but it is not an "LDS magazine" per se. Some of the people are near and dear to me and I can attest they have put A TON of work into it, with great response.
That said, I also have to thank the publishers of Lucky for satisfying my fashion mag cravings without burning my eyeballs with icky articles and the like. I think ELIZA is going to be a little more high-brow than Lucky, though, and will focus on more modest clothing.
i'm all over it. great little website they have going. i want that little red swimsuit! thanks mrs. dub! and if they're friends of rachel AND ginny, they're sure to be lovely girls.
OOOoooo...my finger tips are itching with excitement!
that picture of the girls reading looks like a Stepford version of my friends and me. best friends are a brunette and red head (but she changed her hair color to a more blonde version of red.) but still! yay for mags without naked crocs smooching models etc.!
