Parenthetical notation

Little Miss Dub was feeling a little punk rock yesterday. Does this have anything to do with my post? No.

I've realized I've become "one of those ladies" who can only talk about her child. To my credit, nearly 3 weeks of less than 5 hours of sleep a night doesn't really give one the mental capacity to wax eloquent on topics like early American folklore and the political climate in Burundi. However, I don't want you to think that I've become trapped in a world of baby talk (I have!) and am so entranced by new motherhood that I've let myself go (my blow dryer hasn't been used in a month!) and don't do much to further myself (I don't!).

Please! I've managed to keep up on current events (Brit's divorcing K-Fed!) and stay in touch with my friends (I promise I'll call soon!). I even cook (sandwiches) and clean (sort of). My life is so not consumed by this baby that it's unreal (that's a lie).

But in case you did want to hear about Little Miss Dub, I might just casually mention (all the time) that she's perfect and beautiful and sweet (nothing to put here, folks).

I learned that there is a blessing in not getting dressed up for a month after birth, because trying to fit into your (my) old clothes proved to be harder than I thought it would. It's better to just not know that clothes still don't fit.

Um, she's really cute. I love her hair-do! Isn't it fun to stare at your baby all day? If it weren't for those other two grown-up babies of mine, that's how I would spend every moment.

josie is right, she does look like mr. dub in that picture! how can she look so much like you and him at the same time? whomever she looks like, she sure looks sweet.

i love her and you. keep up the good work. this motherhood thing just doesn't quit. my three yahoo's do the same for me...if it wasn't for church and the occasional "fancy" day, my hair would never get a blown dry.
