Missing Post

This is where my ranting about early winter weather would have gone ... had I posted about it yesterday.

Yesterday, I awoke to freezing temperatures and a gloomy sky. By mid-morning it was snowing -- a strange pellet snow that looked like a celestial styrofoam cup had exploded. All of this was disturbing to me for many reasons:

  1. I don't like snow. It's wet, it's cold and it's a pain to drive in. (Only exceptions: Christmas and anytime I'm near a fireplace. FYI: We don't have a fireplace.)

  2. I don't have any warm maternity clothes. And I certainly don't have the money or desire to invest in them at this point. Should cold weather persist, I would ask to be induced rather than spend any more money on maternity wear. I think my doctor would understand.

  3. I don't have a clue about caring for a newborn in a cold weather climate. I figure you can layer all you want, but should you really be taking a new baby outside when the windchill is in the double-digits ... below zero?

  4. It's October.

But I got too lazy/busy with finishing up my baby preparations to post about the unseasonably cold weather. And then I woke up this morning to fall. Yes, winter had returned to its proper place and a very windy, but sunny and crisp, fall day had replaced it.

So now I have nothing to blog about. Any ideas?

I agree with Sheba’s comment. The imagery of the "celestial Styrofoam cup" is very descriptive. I could almost see it; a giant Dunkin’ Doughnut's cup exploding in the sky. Tiny fragments of Styrofoam floating daintily to the ground. The only problem would be the deluge of coffee that would accompany it. But that wouldn't be too bad if there happened to be a 80% chance of a "non-dairy creamer" front that same day.

Um, I feel just the same about winter. I'm throughly unprepared and don't want to bother. I also feel that snow should be reserved for Christmas Day or when you're staying in a mountain cabin with a huge stone fireplace always blazing.
