Sounds like the title of a movie that would star Harrison Ford and a pixie-haired romantic interest, but it’s actually a synopsis of our latest cross-country adventures. After bidding adieu to Illinois for the summer, we drove through Iowa, Nebraska and into Colorado, where we’ll be for the rest of the season. However, after about 21 hours in the state we boarded a plane and headed to Utah to get some R&R&R (rest, relaxation and rehabilitation) with our Wasatch relatives. Mostly, we just hung around with the fam, though we were able to pitch in with Mrs. Bee’s recovery a bit. I’m happy to report that she’s doing much better, as evidenced by her often cheeky sense of humor and occasional guacamole cravings, though she’s still in a tremendous amount of pain.
But now we’re back in the Centennial State and getting ourselves acquainted with its Rocky Mountain highs and lows. So far, it seems a little bit Arizona (hearty Western vibe, well-maintained infrastructure, desert plateaus) and a little bit Utah (mountain backdrops, snow-frosted peaks and Conocos). Oh, and just a little bit California thanks to our recent discovery that there is a Wahoo’s in our neighborhood. Hurrah for fish tacos!

** Note: I tried to add photos of Illinois' and Iowa's welcome signs, but, alas, Blogger decided I had posted enough boring photos. Sigh.
